THE RESORT


THE DIVE RESORT - A HIDDEN PARADISE

Black Marlin Dive Resort offers 17 exclusive and stylish bungalows just a few steps from the ocean. All rooms have double spring beds with full mosquito nets, ceiling fans. Western style bathrooms with clean running water (we filter it ourselves). All terraces have hammocks and panoramic sea views.

FACILITIES WE PROVIDE IN KADIDIRI

Pool table, Ocean Cafe, Restaurant area, Western bar, Reception with safety box for valuables, Dive Shop and three Dive Boats.
Electricity : 10 am - 12 pm - work in progress (planned 24/7 from 2012)
Mobile phone / internet: There is reception from both Indosat and Telkomsel network on Kadidiri for international calls, internet etc. You'll need to buy a SIM card for either Indosat systems, Telkomsel, Mentari or iM3. Then buy credits (pulsa) with us or before you arrive on Kadidiri.

OUR ECO EFFORTS

At Black Marlin we are striving to always improve the environmental impact that the resort has on the island. To date we have introduced the following programs to ensure that your stay in Sulawesi has the minimum impact on the area, thus preserving it for future generations. With the use of solar energy from 2012, we are planning to go even greener!

• Recycling of all bottles, plastic etc
  
• Refills for mineral water at the Ocean Cafe
  
• Low energy light fittings throughout the resort
  
• Rainwater collection and recycling
  
• Use of 4stroke engines (more efficient, quieter and cleaner)

Climate in Sulawesi

The wet season is December - February. Temperature is 85 degrees all year round but cooler in the evenings as we are very close to the equator

Important Info / Fishing : As Togian Islands is now a Marine Park and the dive resort is in a no take zone there is no fishing allowed at the resort or in the diving area. We can arrange fishing charters to areas outside the 'no take' zone, preferably on a catch and release basis. No spear fishing is allowed anywhere in the Marine park.

Black Marlin is both a Padi / SSI Dive Centre, offers professional/personal service whether exploring the nearby reefs (10 mins) on our speed boats or a day trip to the reefs of Una-Una, an active volcano, on our custom built dive boat.

With over 30 sets of equipment, two new compressors, 80 tanks, 5 speedboats (all with oxygen onboard) we are easily able to satisfy all our guests and others diving needs while on Kadidiri. Come and see for yourself.

Black Marlin go diving at 9am and 2pm (7pm for night dives). We dive 4 times a day during high season: 8am, 11am, 3pm & 7pm. Most dive sites are within 10 mins of Kadidiri in our Speedboats, all equipped with oxygen equipment. All dive groups are kept small with a maximum of 6 people per guide.

PADI & SSI "What's the difference?.. None!" They are basically both the same. All diving courses are governed by the RSTC and the content is standardized. Therefore all diving certifications are valid for life and completely interchangeable within all other dive agencies. Although all our instructors can teach PADI and SSI, we prefer to teach SSI because it gives us more flexibility with the scheduling etc. thus, allowing us to customize the diving courses to give you the best quality learning experience. Normally our diving courses are conducted "one on one" or in very small groups! With Black Marlin Diving you learn at your own pace assuring success with professional support at every stage. SSI is GREENER! - Due to not having to sell you the manual, but instead you can just use ours, we help the environment a little bit with reduced waste and it also allows us to pass on this saving to you with a better price for your diving course (see above). All teaching materials are available online for life at the SSI website www.divessi.com. Please have look at this website to see what a quality course it is, using all aspects of IT to improve the learning experience like studying online before you arrive. DISCOVER SCUBA DIVING

This is a quick way to get you to experience scuba diving safely. The morning session consists of a 40 min chat on the theory involved followed by a shallow water session to teach you some basic skills with an instructor. Then you can dive to 12m accompanied by an instructor or dive master.

In case you don't have enough time for the whole open water diving course, don't miss out on the fantastic underwater world of Sulawesi! You can complete half of the course, enjoy diving in Sulawesi and upgrade to the full open water course at a later time anywhere else.
